Our Operational Excellence Courses

Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action Management Course

This is an 8 hour course that will be conducted in 2 - 4 hour blocks. Participants will learn and apply through hands on exercises the problem solving process which is intended to describe, analyze and determine the causal chain(s) of a problem. This course will show participants where this process can add value; Gaps between the current state and a documented standard, a process is out of control, audit nonconformities exist, injuries, near misses, property damage, quality defects, repetitive or recurring incidents, or other undesirable events as defined by organizations In addition to root cause analysis the course will include corrective action management methods used to eliminate the cause(s) of non-conformance(s).

Value Stream Mapping Course

This training introduces the theory and tools used to identify non-value added activities and drive efficiency. The course teaches participants how to analyze the current state of a process or manufacturing cell and design the future state with minimizing waste. The course includes both lecture and facilitation of practical exercises with current processes. This is a 10 hour course which is broken down into 2, 5 hour sessions. Training conducted at client sites.

5S Course

5-S provides the basis for being a world-class competitor across any industry. 5S is considered the foundation of operational excellence. This course covers the 5 elements of an organized work environment which consists of; Sorting, Shine, Storage, Standardize and Sustaining excellence. This course includes classroom instruction, sharing of best practices and most importantly hands on demonstrations led by participants. This a 5 day course broken up into 4 hour time slots to ensure understanding, retention of principles, and high level of energy to drive sustainable results. The course also gives guidance, instruction and tools used for ongoing audits to ensure sustainability.

Leadership Skills Workshop

Strong, consistent results occur when the workforce is supported appropriately by their leaders. This requires leaders to demonstrate positive behaviors, while influencing and inspiring each other to excel in their area of competency. Enabling your leaders to continue to grow their skills, competencies and confidence will direct the path of future success. Leadership training and development will aid in refreshing expectations of leaders, enhancing collaboration across your organization, and creating opportunities to develop trust. Training will also allow employees to engage in a comfortable setting, learn and practice new techniques to grow as an individual and as a unified team.

EHS Leadership Skills Workshop

This interactive workshop is a two day program designed to provide participants with an understanding of the impact safety has on your organization. The workshop covers the impact leaders have on the safety performance with a focus on legal, financial and moral responsibilities. The workshop also incorporates hazard risk management technique and skills participants can immediately implement. Throughout the workshop, special attention is given to translating academic into practical actions.

Visual Management Course​​​​

The goal of visual management is to improve the effectiveness of communication for the workplace. Visual management drives improvements in all aspects of your business including; safety, quality, productivity and overall workplace morale. This training will begin with the fundamentals of visual management, the various tools utilized throughout industry to drive effective communications and how visual management drives efficiency. This is a two day training session broken down into 5 hour blocks. We start with an overview of visual management, introduction of various tools and to ensure training effectiveness we conduct hands on exercises utilizing your organizational management systems.

Behavior Based Safety Course

The workshop explains the difference between safe and at risk behaviors and how individuals, peers and management can prevent injuries with safe actions. The workshop will demonstrate how to interact with people to change at risk behaviors and reinforce safe behaviors. The workshop allows employees and employer to gain insights into culture, basic principles of behavior, and the critical features of behavior safety implementations necessary to achieve safety excellence.

Hazard Risk Management Course

Workshop trains employees how to identify hazards, determine risks, deploy controls to manage risks and determine effectiveness. Injuries are often caused by exposure to unidentified hazards. This workshop reviews the common cause of injuries across all industries and what managers and employees can do to protect themselves. The training includes both lecture and practical exercises to demonstrate the hazard risk management process.The course incorporates the development and use of Job Safety Analysis as well as managing risk for non-routine work.
